...4 years later

So...no idea if I made anything crafty that weekend but apparently I didn't blog about it...or anything else for that matter. In fact I've had issues logging in to even blog now so it's obviously been pushed out of my mind for the last 4 years...I can't believe it's been 4 years! Obviously tons has changed & I feel like this is typical for my bad journaling habits where  I seem to do some good documentation then nothing until I eventually remember that goal again. Oh well, I guess all I can do is recommit & start over with the same good intentions so here's hoping I follow through :)

So, I'm sitting at the computer trying to figure out what I'm going to do with myself for the next few days while Jacob is gone on a wrestling vacation. How is it suddenly so hard to come up with something that I like to do with my free time for myself? Apparently, I never have free time or just don't use it on anything other than sleep. As you can tell by my lack of blogging I haven't even found enough time or energy to blog. What is up with that? I need to find some way to siphon the energy out of the children that I am constantly watching to get myself some energy for a life and for some "Becca" time. Hopefully, Aiden stays healthy and sleeps well so I can dust off some crafty ideas and materials and create something good with all this "alone" time. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best--with a little luck and some inspiration hopefully you'll see something wonderful in another post by this weekend. If any of my avid readers (easy to be with such little material to cover) has a brilliant idea, please share.

my birthday

Since I said what I wanted for my birthday, I thought maybe I should share what I did on my birthday... a little late, but that's the way my blogging goes (especially in the summer when I'm running around everywhere). So I slept in a bit (didn't get up at 5 am like I have been to work out at the gym-loving taking classes, but hating getting up that early) then I got up and got ready...of course running slow, but made it out to my friend Lindsey's and left Aiden with her kids and we took off. That's right, I escaped children for a breif time...it was so relaxing... well, aside from constantly looking over my shoulder because I felt it was too quiet and I had somehow lost track of kids. Then we went to one of my favorite interior design stores and just browsed. No worries of children knocking over or breaking anything. Serenity and Silence. Then we went out to lunch. Another satisfyingly relaxing experience. No constant chasing or entertaining or shoveling food down my throat so that the second they are bored/start acting up, I can leave. Just peaceful eating on the patio of Mai Thai. Love Mai Thai lunch buffet. Yummmmm. Happy memories, I can almost taste it again ;) If you haven't eaten there, go, run....now! I would but they don't open til 11. So I can finish my post, although you shouldn't be reading it because you should have left when I told you to. Anyways, so we ate delicious gourmet Thai food. The buffet includes, sushi (I know not Thai but they have a sushi bar in their resturant), salad with a delicious homemade peanut salad dressing, fresh fruit, meso soup, then pretty much any type of Thai dish you could want (my favorites are Phad Thai, and the Curry Chicken), followed by deserts: corn pudding and mango rice. mmmmm. Then after eating all this delicious food slowly to savor every peaceful minute we ran out of time and had to hurry back to the babysitter. Shortly after, I met up with my family and we decided to shop. Again, without children cause Aiden fell asleep and Jacob just got off work so he took him home on his way home from the gym. We shopped at Ross, gotta love the deals there...have to dig to find them but they are worth the effort. So I got some short sleeved shirts and some cute jeans. Then we went to On the Border for dinner (wasn't that hungry but 2 of my favorite restaurants-can't pass that up--especially since we've cut our dining out to save our budget) That's right they made me wear a sambraro. The brownie was worth it. Then we ran Aiden home to the babysitter (had to have my little man with me some of the day :)or I'd be sad) and we went to the movies and saw Harry Potter. Fun day; Over too fast. Thanks Lindsey, mom, dad, Rachel, John, Jacob, Aiden, Chris...and all the workers that made my birthday a success. Next year, hopefully everybody will be there again--this time with my painting bro--shout out to Kyle Hall.

my birthday wishlist

I've decided to copy my brilliant sister, although, I think she actually gets most things on her wish list and I'm thinking I'm lucky for any presents, but I thought it'd be a fun post. I guess the hard part is the list...since I have cursed expensive taste:
*a new computer (thinking that I want a MAC, but honestly I'd take anything)
*speakers for my computer (new or current)
*camera accessories--see my camera carousel, or Rachel's on her blog, or bakerella's camera tips...maybe I'll do another post just for that **there are some cheap accessories**
*while I'm at it: a million bucks (my wish list so far is about as unrealistic, right?)
*mineral make up or mac studio fix C3
*cute chunky trendy jewelry:earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings (wet seal, forever 21, icing...they seem to have some cheap stuff $1.50-7)
*I need short sleeved shirts...(shopping trip?)
*an IPOD like Chris'--an IPOD touch? with the most memory available
*a few months of Netflix
Okay, that's about all I can come up with...I don't ask for much, just the necessities.

Life is Funny

I don't know why it cracks me up so much but I am now a gym employee. That's right you read that correctly, a gym employee....if all goes to plan just working there will somehow make me loose weight so that I fit the role, right? I mean thus far, working out and dieting alone haven't done as much as one would assume; so, by immersing myself in with the health fanatics I am hoping to get better results and to not just end up being a fish out of water. Seriously, I am now working in the Gold's Gymn Kids Center. I think that Aiden will really like getting out of the house and doing something for a few hours here and there. At least it should wear him out in ways that I'm not accomplishing on my own. Today was my first official day and it sure wore me out...maybe I should rethink this, one child wore me out before and now I'll be watching up to like 40. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? I wonder if that person had lots of kids. Well, I'll keep you updated.
On a side note, my friend created a recipe blog and so we want all our friends and family to send us recipes so we can expand our meal plans. (Another funny thing in my life, if you know how much my mom loves cooking and you know that's a bit genetic--it will make you laugh that I'm actually trying to cook to make myself better--although it stresses me out to be trying to cook something especially if it doesn't work) If you want to just go to that blog it is gimmemorefood.blogspot.com we are still working on making it cute but I'm surprised at how much easier it is to blog about recipes. Know what you are making for dinner? blog it. Find something new to try? blog it. No thinking or remembering what you did or coming up with clever ways to make your normal life seem more adventerous to yourself in a post...oops I've said too much.

I was just scrolling through the posts on fabulesslyfrugal.blogspot when i saw that they are giving away a photo package. The photographer has really cute poses and makes the images more into art than just another portrait....her images are beautiful. Check out the deal and enter if you want....but maybe you shouldn't--less competition means i have better odds of winning ;)
